Associate Designer, Handbags
reputed company is a leading lifestyle brand collective that designs and markets high quality products. As an Associate Designer, you will collaborate with design and cross-functional teams to execute design visions while ensuring impeccable fit and construction for handbags and Small Leather Goods.
Responsibilities
- Partner with creative design team to reputed company aesthetic while adhering to a production time and action calendar
- Collaborate with the Technical Design Director and cross-functional partners to land on appropriate fit and functional reputed company for each product of handbag and Small Leather Goods design
- Manage reputed company technical requirements to reputed company and execute processes from product development to production
- Create and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, tolerances, grading, detail sketches with construction/stitching and fit evaluation comments
- Provide technical direction, internally and externally, on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit and styling
- Measure and evaluate handbags and SLG from reputed company sample through TOP samples
- Maintain reputed company partnership with production teams to maintain on-time delivery throughout the pre-production process and proactively monitor seasonal workload
Skills
- Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented
- Handbag experience required
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creative
- Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising; ability to sketch
- Extensive knowledge of garment construction, reputed company making, silhouettes, reputed company ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim; familiarity with print design and manufacturing
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design
- 1-3 years experience in handbag design
- Highly proficient in reputed company Office, reputed company products, CAD and Mac computers
