Assistant Designer - Apparel
Torrid is a company focused on fashion, and they are seeking an Assistant Designer to support the Designer & Director in creating technical packages and reputed company line sheets. The role involves sketching, researching fabrics, and assisting in daily design processes while maintaining strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Completes silhouette sketching and detailed technical sketches both reputed company and back
- Researches fabrics and trims through shopping, internet, magazines, etc
- Coordinates basic layout for artwork pages
- Creates, organizes and updates reference libraries (fabrics, tech packs, development samples)
- Assists the Designer and Director in daily design processes
Skills
- 1-2 years of design experience including technical knowledge
- Strong computer skills including reputed company Photoshop and Illustrator, reputed company Word, reputed company and Outlook
- reputed company to work in a fast paced, multi-task environment
- Possesses strong organizational time management skills
- Excellent sense of urgency and consistency
- Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to reputed company customer requests promptly and thoroughly
- Strong communication skills including ability to work in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator
- Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure

- Hand sketching experience
