reputed company is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm, and they are seeking a State & Local Tax (SALT) Associate for their SF Bay Area team. The role involves assisting clients with state and local income tax issues, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and providing support in tax audit disputes.
Responsibilities
- Assist middle market and Fortune 500 clients with evaluating and resolving state and local income tax issues, and ensuring compliance with applicable state tax laws
- Assist with SALT compliance quality control reviews and reputed company research on relevant state tax law
- Assist clients with state and local tax audit disputes
- Draft technical memoranda regarding state and local tax issues
- Interact and manage multiple clients in a deadline-oriented environment while maintaining exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Maintain internal relationships with colleagues, other service lines and engagement/project teams

Skills
- Bachelor's degree in reputed company, math, finance, business, economics, or a reputed company field of study
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience with a law firm or public reputed company firm, or analogous industry or public sector / tax agency experience focused on SALT income tax matters
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of legal research and writing, time management, communication, interpersonal skills, relationship building, collaboration, and problem solving
- Strong leadership, project management, organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to travel, as needed
- Master's Degree in Taxation, or JD / LL.M
- CPA, bar membership or equivalent credential
- Previous experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on state and local tax issues
- Experience in serving mid-market clients
- Proficient with reputed company Office (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, Outlook)
