Staff Accountant - Short Hills, NJ (Hybrid)

They are seeking a Staff Accountant to engage in finance-reputed company projects, maintain general ledger account balances, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Participates in accounting projects
- Keeps reputed company on available technology, and how technology can enhance our environment
- Documents impact of projects on the company’s control environment
- With the implementation of projects, will assist in updating and deploying of accounting reports and reconciliations
- Suggests new accounting procedures and recommends improvements
- Applies applicable accounting and reporting rules, and statutory regulations
- Contemplates and recommends financial transactions in accordance with SSAP and GAAP as they relate to projects being worked on
Skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Familiarity with laws and regulations that apply to accounting and compliance
- Experience with spreadsheet software packages
- Familiarity with automated or manual accounting systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage projects
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 1-3 years of financial accounting experience
