Job title: Redding Public Schools: Instructional Assistant - Multi-Language Learners Company: Easton, Redding & Region 9 Public School Districts Job description: Position Available: Commencing with the 2023-2024 school year. Official start date will be August 30, 2023. Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the support staff collective bargaining unit agreement. Competitive benefits. Starting salary approximately $16.00/hour-$17.00/hour for a paid 6.25 hour day. There is an additional one-half hour unpaid for lunch. Schedule: The successful candidate will split time between Redding Elementary School and John Read Middle School working under the direction of the Multi-Language Learner teacher. Requirements/Qualifications:

• College degree OR high school diploma with evidence of having passed the ParaPro exam
• Experience working with young children and adolescents ranging in grade levels from kindergarten to grade 8.

Ideal Candidate Possesses:

• Ability to work directly with reputed company from grades kindergarten to grade 8 who are learning to speak English, with reputed company provided by the Multilingual Learner teacher.
• Applicants should have an interest in supporting reputed company in varying stages of English language acquisition. Knowledge of a language other than English is not required.
• Ability to work with reputed company one-on-one or in small group settings
• Ability to communicate with and relate well to young children and adolescents
• Good organizational skills
• Flexibility
• Good interpersonal skills
• Sense of humor
