POSITION SUMMARY: The ESL Adult Education teacher will provide English language instruction to qualifying, registered ESL adults through the APS Adult Education Department. There will be in-person, grant-funded adult classes with pre and post testing requirements. The ESL teacher will collaborate with reputed company adult education faculty and staff to ensure language instruction meets District and State Adult Education guidelines and will report to the adult education Director and Supervisor. This ESL teaching position is hourly and may provide instruction at varying locations. Classes will be in the evening. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: ? Valid State of Michigan Teacher Certification required ? ESL and Language Arts (K-5 or 6-12) endorsements preferred ? Minimum 1- year experience teaching ESL preferred with knowledge of adult learner reputed company ? Ability to communicate effectively with staff members, reputed company, and public ?
