Xpert: Lead DevOps Engineer (GCP – Google Cloud)
Role: Lead DevOps Engineer (GCP – Google Cloud) Location: Remote Engagement: Permanent, Full-Time Start: TBC Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Lead DevOps Engineer (GCP) to drive reliability, scalability, and performance across production environments. You will lead an SRE/DevOps team, implement automation and observability practices, and ensure system uptime while fostering a culture of engineering excellence within Google Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor SRE/DevOps engineers, driving team growth and performance Act as technical authority on SRE practices within GCP environments Ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across production systems Implement DevOps and SRE best practices with a focus on automation and scalability Drive observability using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Stackdriver Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GCP-native tools Troubleshoot complex incidents and implement root-cause fixes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform stability Apply Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Deployment Manager, etc.) Manage team workload and stakeholder expectations Promote a proactive, blameless incident management culture Essential Skills & Experience 3+ years in a leadership role within SRE/DevOps environments Strong hands-on experience with GCP services and infrastructure Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Solid UNIX/Linux administration skills Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Shell scripting Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Stackdriver) Understanding of security, compliance, and cost optimisation in GCP Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Degree/Diploma in IT or equivalent experience; GCP certifications advantageous InspiredXpert is a specialist IT Talent Solutions company providing high-quality contract or perm talent across software development, cloud, AI, cybersecurity, and data-driven roles.
