Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Engineering

• Design, develop, and maintain highly available, low‑latency data ingestion pipelines that serve arenaflex microservices.
• Build and operate distributed storage systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Druid, Iceberg) to support real‑time analytics and batch processing.
• Implement self‑service data access layers that empower data scientists and engineers to query massive datasets efficiently.
• Drive performance optimizations, capacity planning, and cost‑effective scaling strategies for cloud‑native environments.

Platform & Tooling

• Develop shared platform services and tooling that accelerate the delivery of new data products across the organization.
• Maintain and evolve internal frameworks written in Python, Java, and other languages to ensure reliability and developer productivity.
• Collaborate with the open‑source community to adopt, contribute to, and influence projects that align with arenaflex’s strategic goals.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Partner with product owners, data scientists, and operations teams to define data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Essential Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience building large‑scale distributed systems or data platforms.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java and at least one additional language such as Python, Scala, or Go.
• System Design: Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and operate fault‑tolerant services that meet stringent latency and throughput requirements.
