Position Summary

arenaflex is seeking a highly analytical, detail‑oriented Senior Pricing Analyst to work remotely from Virginia, USA. In this role you will build sophisticated economic models, analyze large data sets, and provide pricing recommendations that directly influence multi‑billion‑dollar revenue streams. You will serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders, mentor junior analysts, and help shape the future of arenaflex’s pricing strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced pricing and underwriting models using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VLOOKUP, INDEX + MATCH, SUMIFS, formula auditing, and error troubleshooting).
  • Query and analyze massive, complex data sets with Microsoft Access, SAS, and SQL (create parameterized queries, joins, cross‑tab reports, and automation macros).
  • Conduct thorough statistical analysis of pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) contracts, health‑plan data, and third‑party sources to identify pricing opportunities and risks.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including Finance, Reporting, Operations, Business Development, and Sales—to translate analytical insights into actionable pricing recommendations.
  • Prepare and present executive‑level pricing recommendation memos, dashboards, and PowerPoint decks to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Lead data‑driven problem‑solving initiatives, develop standard operating procedures, and drive automation efforts that streamline pricing workflows.
  • Mentor and coach junior Pricing & Finance Analysts, sharing best practices in data analysis, model development, and stakeholder communication.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation of model assumptions, methodology, and results to ensure transparency and auditability.
  • Travel up to 10 % of the time for business meetings, stakeholder workshops, and on‑site collaboration (within or outside the state).

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Business, Actuarial Science, or Pharmacoeconomics.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in pricing/economic analysis, preferably within Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), contracting, finance, or account management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Excel for statistical analysis and economic modeling (advanced functions, macros, and pivot tables).
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Access, SAS, and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets, spot trends, and develop data‑driven solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to convey complex analytical findings to senior executives.
  • Organizational excellence: capable of juggling multiple priorities, meeting tight deadlines, and delivering high‑quality work under pressure.
  • Customer‑service orientation with experience supporting internal and external clients, ensuring adherence to service‑level standards.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel for report creation, formatting, and presentation design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience in pricing and profitability modeling, including scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.
  • Four or more years of experience in PBM, contracting, finance, or pricing roles, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with health‑care industry metrics, managed‑care contracts, and prescription‑drug economics.
  • Experience with data‑visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software (e.g., R, Python) is a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, ASA, or related actuarial credentials.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Ability to transform raw data into actionable insights using advanced Excel, Access, SAS, and SQL techniques.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capacity to align pricing recommendations with broader business objectives and market dynamics.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive storytelling for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively across functional teams and influencing decision‑makers.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive identification of pricing challenges and development of innovative, data‑driven solutions.
  • Project Management: Ability to lead initiatives, manage timelines, and deliver results in a remote environment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Retirement savings options, including a 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) allowing you to invest in arenaflex’s future.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO), holidays, and paid parental leave (PPL).
  • Transportation benefit plan and employee store discount.
  • Continuous learning opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and access to internal training resources.
