About the position In this role, you’ll support the Purchasing Team by coordinating the subcontractor allocation process and helping shape short‑ to medium‑term procurement decisions. You’ll play a key part in RFQ and tendering activities, maintain accurate pricing and procurement data, and ensure materials and services are planned effectively against program demand. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll help drive consistency, value for money, and adherence to Babcock’s procurement processes across all programs.

  • Shaping short‑ to medium‑term procurement decisions
  • Playing a key part in RFQ and tendering activities
  • Maintaining accurate pricing and procurement data
  • Ensuring materials and services are planned effectively against program demand
  • Driving consistency, value for money, and adherence to Babcock’s procurement processes across all programs

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel and a desire to enhance skills on the job
  • Intermediate IFS or another ERP system
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Purchasing, Contract or Project Administration roles
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be eligible to obtain an appropriate level of Commonwealth Personnel Security Clearance
  • Compliance with the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the AU Defence Trade Controls Act 2012 will be assessed
