Role Overview

The Remote Data Analyst – Quantitative Research & Product Insight Specialist will join arenaflex’s Product Analytics team to turn raw data into actionable recommendations that shape product strategy, improve user experience, and drive business growth. This role blends rigorous statistical analysis, data storytelling, and cross‑functional collaboration. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and senior leadership to uncover hidden patterns, quantify the impact of new features, and help prioritize the roadmap based on data‑driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and interpret quantitative analyses that address high‑impact product questions, such as feature adoption, user retention, and revenue optimization.
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting pipelines, dashboards, and visualizations that deliver real‑time insights to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Translate complex statistical findings into clear, concise narratives and actionable recommendations for non‑technical audiences, using data storytelling techniques and compelling visual aids.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to define measurement frameworks, establish key performance indicators (KPIs), and design experiments (A/B tests, multivariate tests, etc.) that rigorously evaluate product hypotheses.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility, and to refine data models that support scalable analytics.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, efficiency gains, and predictive modeling that can be leveraged across multiple product lines.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of best‑practice documentation, coding standards, and analytical methodologies within the team.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with statistical programming languages and tools (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata, MATLAB) and a solid foundation in hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and experimental design.
  • Hands‑on experience querying relational databases using SQL and extracting, cleaning, and transforming large datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate analytical results to both technical and business audiences with clarity and confidence.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset, critical thinking, and business acumen to turn data insights into strategic product recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD) in a quantitative field, or recent completion of such a program.
  • Experience working on real‑world product analytics projects, preferably within a technology or internet‑services company.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or open‑source libraries (e.g., Plotly, D3.js).
  • Exposure to machine‑learning concepts and the ability to prototype predictive models that inform product decisions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours across multiple time zones, with a commitment to meet project deadlines and support rapid product cycles.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Rigor: Mastery of statistical techniques, experimental design, and data‑driven decision making.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong SQL skills; fluency in at least one statistical programming language (R or Python); familiarity with version control (Git).
  • Data Storytelling: Ability to craft compelling narratives that translate numbers into business impact, using charts, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of partnering with product, engineering, and design teams to align analytics with product goals.
  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment where priorities shift quickly.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
