Our Trust & Safety (T&S) division is dedicated to safeguarding the platform, ensuring that every user can express themselves freely while feeling protected from harmful behavior. As part of arenaflex’s mission to build a safe, inclusive, and thriving digital ecosystem, we are seeking a visionary senior leader to head our Global Adversarial Abuse & Analytics team.

Why This Role Matters

In an era where malicious actors leverage sophisticated tools—such as generative AI, automated bots, and coordinated campaigns—to disrupt online experiences, the responsibility of detecting, analyzing, and mitigating abuse has never been more critical. As the Senior Director, Global Head of Adversarial Abuse & Analytics, you will shape the strategy, technology, and operational excellence that protect millions of users worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to blend data‑driven insight with cross‑functional leadership, driving tangible impact on the safety and reputation of arenaflex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a comprehensive roadmap for adversarial abuse detection, prevention, and remediation across all product lines.
  • Team Management: Lead a global, 24×7 team of analysts, engineers, and product partners, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and high performance.
  • Risk Forecasting: Anticipate emerging abuse trends—such as account takeovers, spam, coordinated misinformation, and AI‑generated threats—and develop proactive counter‑measures.
  • Data Architecture: Partner with Product and Engineering to design robust data pipelines, knowledge graphs, and machine‑learning models that surface abusive patterns at scale.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development, Policy, Global Operations, and Strategy teams to translate analytical insights into actionable product features and policy updates.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee rapid response initiatives, ensuring timely escalation, investigation, and resolution of high‑severity incidents.
  • Reporting & Transparency: Produce clear, data‑rich reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators, highlighting abuse trends, mitigation effectiveness, and compliance status.
  • Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent in analytics, data science, and risk engineering, building a pipeline of future leaders.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Champion the adoption of cutting‑edge technologies—such as deep learning, graph analytics, and automated threat intelligence—to stay ahead of adversaries.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience leading risk‑focused initiatives that combat large‑scale abuse, fraud, or misinformation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and scaling data pipelines and machine‑learning models for detection of malicious activity.
  • Proven ability to manage teams that operate on non‑standard schedules, including weekend on‑call rotations.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the capacity to translate complex data sets into strategic business decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, capable of building relationships with cross‑functional partners worldwide.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics.
  • Experience analyzing massive data sets (billions of records) to uncover hidden abuse patterns.
  • Background in adversarial research, cybersecurity, or fraud detection, with a demonstrated interest in emerging threat vectors.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, and/or MATLAB for data extraction, statistical analysis, and model development.
  • Track record of delivering measurable improvements in safety metrics and policy enforcement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment, balancing ambiguity with data‑driven clarity.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Mastery of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and predictive modeling.
  • Technical Acumen: Hands‑on experience with big‑data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), cloud services, and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to envision long‑term safety architectures while delivering short‑term operational wins.
  • Leadership Presence: Inspiring leadership style that motivates diverse, distributed teams.
  • Stakeholder Management: Skilled at navigating complex organizational structures and influencing senior leadership.
  • Ethical Judgment: Deep commitment to user privacy, fairness, and responsible AI practices.
