Position Summary – Remote Customer Service Representative (Specialty Pharmacy)

We are seeking enthusiastic, detail‑oriented individuals who reside in Florida (within a 75‑mile radius of our Orlando specialty mail‑order hub at 9310 Southpark Center Loop, Orlando, FL 32819) to join our Specialty Pharmacy team. This fully remote role operates on flexible evening shifts (11:30 am – 8:00 pm EST or 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm EST) and focuses on providing telephone support to patients receiving life‑sustaining specialty drug therapy.

As a Remote Customer Service Representative, you will be the trusted voice that guides patients through complex medication processes, ensures accurate order entry, and collaborates with insurance providers, health‑care professionals, and internal teams to resolve clinical and financial challenges swiftly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Interaction: Answer inbound calls and initiate outbound outreach to assist patients with new prescriptions, refills, and medication inquiries, always delivering compassionate, patient‑first service.
  • Order Coordination: Verify and revitalize patient benefits, enter prescription details into the pharmacy information system, and confirm copay amounts before processing orders.
  • Authorization Management: Secure prior authorizations, work closely with insurance carriers, and navigate prior‑authorization portals to keep therapy uninterrupted.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify, screen, and resolve clinical or accounts‑receivable issues that could delay medication fulfillment, escalating to senior staff when necessary.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Accurately document all interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintain compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
  • Collaboration: Partner with pharmacy technicians, clinical pharmacists, and the broader arenaflex network to ensure seamless order flow and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback on workflow bottlenecks, suggest process enhancements, and participate in regular training sessions to stay current on specialty drug therapies.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a high‑volume customer‑service role, handling complex inquiries over the phone.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑based applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, and email platforms.
  • Demonstrated keyboarding speed and accuracy (minimum 40 wpm) with strong attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Residency in Florida and ability to work within a 75‑mile radius of the Orlando specialty pharmacy location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a health‑care setting, particularly within pharmacy, benefits administration, or medical terminology.
