Job Summary: The Insurance Network Navigator is a dedicated member of the Patient Financial Services team that is responsible for a large patient reputed company. The role of the Insurance Network Navigator is to provide overall guidance to the patient as it relates to non-contracted insurance benefits and potential financial obligation knowledge. The Insurance Network Navigator redirects patients with out of network insurance to their in-network facilities/providers. Insurance Network Navigator stress customer service and positive interpersonal relations while working closely with Admitting/Registration, Preauthorization, Care Management, Managed Care, appropriate department personnel in Patient Financial Services and MCW Clinical Practice Services in addressing financial responsibilities. EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of insurance benefits as it relates to deductibles, coinsurance, co-payments, and overall insurance out of pocket costs. Three years’ experience in patient navigation, financial counseling, case management, managed care, or health insurance payor environment. Knowledge gained through at least 3-5 years focused experience is required. Experience in a patient financial reputed company setting. Exemplary customer service skills. Experience in reputed company/reputed company cycle functions. EDUCATION: High School or GED. Associate Degree, preferred. LICENSURE: State of Wisconsin and Federal Certified Application Counselor Designation is preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS: High degree of organizational skills and excellent communication skills; ability to work independently and take programmatic initiative. Experience with reputed company Word, reputed company, and other software programs. Experience using computerized billing systems in a service industry.
