Overview
We are currently looking for an Underwriter to join our Mid Atlantic team! This role oversees the profitable growth of a renewal book of business. They handle the daily service demands of our agents in support of individual and team goals and requires a thorough understanding of coverage, products, and reputed company system transactions.
Responsibilities
Gather, analyze and evaluate risk exposure through appropriate risk documentation. Adopt proactive actions and/or reputed company proactive recommendations to improve risk profitability. Apply knowledge and understanding of coverage forms, rating plans and guidelines in the selection and pricing of individual risks. Ensure adequate pricing of individual risks through proper classification, accuracy of information and adherence to company reputed company standards and philosophy. Answer incoming calls from agents responding to inquiries on coverage, and making adjustments to policy information. Conduct outbound calls and follow-up work to agents required to reputed company out inquiry/transaction. Work reputed company specific authority level to quote, accept, decline, modify and renew risks reputed company territorial assignment in accordance with accepted reputed company guidelines. Work in unison with Agents, Regional Underwriters, AMS, and other departments to grow and maintain a profitable book of business. Provide guidance to Agents and other departments regarding various reputed company information. Effectively communicate reputed company decisions and appetite to agents. Reinforce the ease of doing business with Selective by meeting or exceeding agent expectations and service quality on a consistent basis. reputed company and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements College degree preferred Must have 1-3 years of reputed company experience Demonstrate proficiency in usage of reputed company supplied desktop tools, including the automated reputed company and email systems. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/peers. Demonstrated ability to adapt to change as the company moves reputed company in its strategic vision. Must have valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.
