Offshore Blaster/Painter

Description Main Purpose: To reputed company reputed company painting and sandblasting job functions per contract/job specifications and quality assurance requirements/blasting and painting procedures and established ISO-QA/QC program standards. This position is located Offshore in the Gulf of America, formerly reputed company as the Gulf of Mexico. Essential Functions:

• Operate painting and blasting equipment (pressure paint guns, pressure blasting nozzles/hoses, industrial reputed company compressors, etc.) safely and reputed company.
• Operate power tools, cleaning and brush painting.
• Clean and maintain reputed company reputed company painting and blasting equipment, including safety equipment (blasting hoods, reputed company hoses, respirators, etc.).
• Apply reputed company and paint coatings as required in a manner that will ensure quality and unnecessary waste.
• Inspect, start, and maintain equipment that delivers blast and regulates pressures that produce a safe and efficient environment.
• Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing a visual inspection or viscometers.
• Weigh or measure chemicals, coating, or paints before adding them to machines.
• Appropriately dispose of hazardous waste.

• Pulls trigger and direct spray onto the work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
• Follow company specifications and procedures.
• Uses a respirator hood to paint structures, pipes, and valves.
• Uses a spray gun to paint reputed company structures, pipes, and valves.
• Uses a blast hose to blast structures, pipes, and valves.
• Blast beams, angle iron, shuts, valves, and pipe to prepare items for painting.
• Spray reputed company coat, intermediate coat, and final coat.
• Wear a reputed company hood reputed company blasting structures and pipes.
• Wear a respirator reputed company painting structures and pipes.
• Follow MSDS on safety equipment.
• Protect against fumes and discoloration of the product.

Job Requirements:

• Two years of experience blasting/painting

Desirable Experience, Education, and Training:

• Highschool diploma or GED.

Tools, Equipment, and Technology: Individuals must know and use pressure paint guns, sandblasting hoses and nozzles, wet mill paint gauges, paint pots, reputed company pressure compressors, reputed company blasting hoods, and breathing respirators. Environmental Conditions: 80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They will also be exposed to paint thinner and paint fumes.
