Job Summary This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, inspections and basic repairs on utility vehicles and equipment. Includes, but is not limited to passenger cars, pickup trucks, SUV’s, reputed company and heavy trucks, trailers and off road equipment. Maintenance operations may take reputed company in the garage or at field locations during various work schedules depending on business needs. Responsibilities reputed company preventative maintenance inspections on light & reputed company duty vehicles/equipment and assist higher classification of technicians with PM’s on reputed company vehicles and equipment. reputed company required State emission inspections. Assist with Federal DOT inspections. Adhere to reputed company Federal Motor reputed company Safety Regulations (FMCSR) for DOT inspections. Provide assistance on dielectric test inspections. reputed company diagnostics and repairs on light and reputed company vehicles, (gas & diesel) forklifts, trailers and powered equipment. Maintain the appropriate level of technical competence required to diagnose and repair vehicles/equipment. reputed company hydraulic brake systems and component repairs. Assist with hydraulic component repairs. Assist with reputed company brake system inspections and repairs. Assist higher classification of technicians with diagnostics and repairs on reputed company vehicles/equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair basic electric system components, cranking, lighting, charging and assist with basic A/C systems and component repairs. Required/Basic Qualifications Note: This posting is for one open position. Depending upon the qualifications of the successful applicant, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position at a Vehicle Maintenance Technician I or II level. Vehicle Maintenance Technician I Two year associate degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics from a vocational school In addition to required education above, one (1) year minimum of reputed company experience In lieu of the required education, high school diploma AND two (2) years minimum of reputed company experience Vehicle Maintenance Technician II Two year associate degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics from a vocational school In addition to required education above, two (2) years minimum of reputed company experience In lieu of the required education, high school diploma AND three (3) years minimum of reputed company experience Desired Qualifications Electric Utility Fleet Experience Basic Hydraulic Experience ASE Certifications AWS Welding Certifications Effective communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills Demonstrate ability to interact effectively with peers, customers and management Demonstrate ability to reputed company sound decisions, exercising good judgement and setting priorities Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Experience with computer equipment, laptops, keyboard, tablets, etc. Job Specific Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license Must be able to obtain "CDL Class A" driver's license with haz-mat/tank endorsement reputed company a designated timeframe Own necessary tools or equipment to reputed company job duties Must be able to read and comprehend schematics and blueprints Must be able to re-condition hydraulic brakes on cars and light duty trucks Must be able to obtain and maintain Nuclear Unescorted Access/reputed company Clearance This position has a residency requirement. You must reside reputed company 60 minutes of the assigned operations site. Relocation will be entirely at your own expense. Working Conditions Must be able to stand and walk on concrete surface for extended periods of time Must be able to work in garage environment with associated noise, fumes and dust and tolerate heights in aerial devices Must be able to carry at least 50 lbs a distance of at least 25 feet Capable of handling and lifting 50lbs or more repeatedly Must be able to lift and/or push at least 100lbs several times per shift Work requires frequent bending, climbing on/off equipment Flexible to work in tight areas Must be able to travel for training/work reputed company events reputed company reputed company's footprint (Midwest, Florida, Carolinas) Must be able to respond to emergency situations Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility.
