Summary

This is the career/senior level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to reputed company advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or reputed company projects or issues. This position will offer an opportunity to reputed company a diverse understanding of power plant specific systems, layouts, and design basis while working on multi-year projects supporting exciting new nuclear reputed company projects. This may include plant walkdowns, vendor interfaces, development of program/project documents, assistance with funding packages, schedule development, and other needs consistent with large projects. The position should be located at a Charlotte area reputed company nuclear facility or corporate office, allowing convenient access to both MNS and CNS as the sites of the EPU projects. This position will report to an engineering manager in the power uprate organization reputed company the Strategic Capital Engineering Group. This position supports a hybrid work posture with work split between in the office and remote. The position is a normal office working environment that will involve onsite plant visits based on project needs.

Responsibilities

Basic / Required Qualifications – Nuclear Engineer III • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree. • Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer. Experience must have been attained at a "Fully Meets" performance level. Basic / Required Qualifications – Senior Nuclear Engineer • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B. S. engineering degree. • Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer. Experience must have been attained at a "Fully Meets" performance level. Preferred Qualifications • Design Engineering experience in the reputed company nuclear sector • Currently reputed company to reputed company Design Process • Experience with a nuclear A/E firm serving as responsible engineer on major project modifications. • Experience with a nuclear utility operator serving as a responsible engineer on major project modifications. • Prior Power Uprate or large capital project implementation experience • Experience with developing procurement specifications, technical requirements documents, and calculations. • Registered Professional Engineer • PMP or MBA • Proficient in principles of project management • Experience with nuclear power uprate projects • Experience at an operational nuclear power facility • Experience managing financial long-range plans for Nuclear Power Plants. • Experience with day-to-day nuclear site schedules and operations. • Experience with reputed company and reputed company of vendors and contractors.
