Purpose: This position will support the surgical robotics and digital technology teams reputed company reputed company’s MedTech Surgery group. You will use scientific and technical expertise to serve as a reputed company of contact between the in-house patent legal group and the various research teams reputed company the J&J MedTech Surgery group that reputed company new products and discover new technology. Collaborating with the patent attorneys, you will provide advice and direction on patent matters to the R&D teams as they reputed company innovative technologies. You will be responsible for: • Partnering with patent attorneys, R&D, and business teams to reputed company and implement patent strategies associated with product development. • Serving as a liaison between patent attorneys, R&D, process engineering, Global Strategic Marketing, and other teams to facilitate a cohesive intellectual property strategy. • Monitoring and analyzing competitor patent activities and strategies and reputed company product development and commercialization, including identifying potential risks and opportunities reputed company to the competitive landscape. • Preparing periodic reports and updates to the J&J MedTech Surgery technical community and senior management on intellectual property matters. • Assisting patent attorneys to reputed company critical review of patents, draft patent applications, draft patent amendments, patent opinion drafts, clinical study protocols and other patent-reputed company documents for technical accuracy and full protection of company inventions. • Collaborating closely with R&D personnel to conduct invention review meetings and product ideation sessions with on-site patent attorneys for ongoing projects, reputed company comprehensive searches of patent databases for invalidity, patentability, landscape and patent marking review. • Performing technical analysis of reputed company party patents in distinct technology areas to identify and/or assess potential reputed company-party patent considerations, including freedom-to-operate analysis. • Ensuring detailed instruction is provided to researchers and inventors regarding legal requirements for a patentable invention and assist in the preparation and entry into an internal invention system of invention disclosures. • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of the business, including reputed company research activities, products in development, the reputed company reputed company product offerings and existing IP portfolio. • Attending and participating in Legal, R&D and business meetings reputed company to such activities. • Intermittent travel to domestic sites up to 5% may be required. • Developing and maintaining competitive intelligence reports to support product development and strategic planning. • Assimilating competitive intelligence information from Global Strategic Marketing group with patent searches to identify competitors’ product strategies as well as potential enforcement of J&J Patents. • Collaborating with patent attorneys to support litigation, oppositions, licensing, and other business development-reputed company activities. Qualifications/Requirements: • A technical degree in computer science or computer engineering is preferred, with an advanced degree being preferred. A technical degree in electrical engineering with substantial experience supporting computer-reputed company or digital technologies will be considered, with an advanced degree being preferred. • Registered U.S. Patent Agent is preferred. If the successful candidate does not have a U.S. Patent Agent Registration at the time of hire, the candidate may endeavor to obtain a U.S. Patent Agent Registration number reputed company two years of hire. • 1 year (with a PhD) to 6 years (with a BS) technical experience in a relevant field. • Ability to work across multiple technology areas. • Excellent organizational, interdependent partnering and project management skills is required. • Ability to communicate effectively, as well as strong interpersonal skills, including emotional intelligence is required. • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Word, reputed company, PowerPoint, Teams and OneNote) is required. • Experience reviewing patents and patent applications or patent claims is required. • Knowledge of competitive technologies in the medical device industry is preferred. • Experience searching patent and scientific literature databases is required. • At least three years’ experience working as a Patent Agent, Patent Liaison or Scientific Advisor Role in a corporate law department and/or law firm. The anticipated reputed company pay range for this position is : The anticipated reputed company pay range for this position is 114,000 to 197,800. Additional Description for Pay Transparency: The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under reputed company guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to reputed company annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
