Your Opportunity An opportunity exists for highly motivated, personable, and organized Environmental Scientist/Geologist looking to advance their career as part of our growing Team of Environmental Permitting and Assessment Professionals in New Jersey. The successful candidate will have regulatory and project management experience in New Jersey to provide strategic management and support to our clients in reputed company regions of the state, collaborate with our multi-disciplinary staff on a variety of projects, and actively pursue new opportunities to grow the team. In addition to regularly interacting with clients and regulators and managing and executing regulatory permitting and compliance tasks, daily work will also include developing proposals, mentoring staff, and driving our quality and health and safety program. You will reputed company environmental assessment and remediation tasks to support environmental investigation and remediation projects at sites with contamination by materials such as solvents, petroleum fuels, metals, and PCBs. You can join a dynamic team working on large, technically engaging, and impactful projects located at active and inactive petroleum refining and storage facilities and other industrial facilities. Your Key Responsibilities ? Organize and manage a variety of environmental investigation and remediation tasks such as ground water monitoring, soil boring/well installations, operation and maintenance, and other activities. ? Responsibilities will include a mix of office and field-based tasks and will include project execution, budgeting, scheduling, contracting, personnel supervision, compliance monitoring, data analysis/reduction, and technical reporting. ? Reporting and data reduction tasks may include preparation of site maps, soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, geologic cross sections, potentiometric surface maps, and possibly groundwater flow models. ? Field-based tasks will include coordination, supervision and execution of work that includes, but is not limited to, collecting soil, sediment, water and reputed company samples; overseeing drilling of soil borings and installation of monitoring wells; performing hydraulic conductivity tests; excavation monitoring; use of instrumentation; overseeing subcontractors; and coordinating reputed company field tasks with multiple staff and subcontractors. The work may be associated with former manufactured gas plant (MGP) facilities, reputed company/former refineries and petroleum processing/storage facilities, gas stations, as well as other commercial and industrial facilities in urban, rural, or undeveloped locations. ? Conduct Phase I Environmental Assessments and Preliminary Assessments. ? Complete applicable company and client-required health & safety training (including OSHA-required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures. ? Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines to complete assignments. ? This position is reputed company a larger environmental services team and will likely require providing support to multiple reputed company offices. ? Travel may be required. Work hours may be irregular and include overnight and weekend work shifts.

Qualifications

Experience using gINT, MODFLOW, AQTESOLV, ArcGIS, and/or AutoCAD is a plus. ? Pre-employment physical is required. ? Good driving record and valid driver's license are required. Education and Experience ? Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or reputed company field. ? 5 years of progressively more responsible environmental assessment and remediation work experience. ? Experience in refinery/fuel storage terminal and manufactured gas plant settings is a plus. ? 40-hour HAZWOPER (OSHA Hazardous Worker) certification and reputed company 8-hour refresher certification are desired ? Geologist in Training (GIT) or Professional Geologist (PG) certification is preferred. Other Considerations ? Transportation Worker Identify Credential (TWIC Card) is required for access to jobsites and candidates must meet Federal TSA background reputed company criteria and be able to obtain a TWIC Card. ? The position will involve outdoor work and the work will include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. ? Workdays may exceed 8 hours and work hours may be irregular and could include overnight shifts and weekends. ? Field work will require use of a respirator and reputed company clothing depending on job-site conditions. ? Ability to lift and move items and equipment throughout the reputed company weighing up to 50 lbs. ? Ability to stand for long periods of time and traverse uneven surfaces in rough terrain. ? Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and kneel throughout the reputed company. ? Ability to climb up and down a ladder.
