Qualifications

Standards Previous experience or training is required. Must be reputed company to qualify in two gas shielded FCAW welding processes 71T-1 and 811N3 in the three positions. Knowledge of welding characteristics of metal. Must be reputed company to work at heights, confined spaces, and any assigned shift. Must comprehend written and verbal instructions (in English). Must be reputed company to hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings. Essential Job Tasks Welds parts in position for fabrication of vessels, tanks or other structural assemblies. Uses carbon electrodes to cut, shape and groove metal. May prepare workplace for welding by cleaning and/or preheating. Examines weld sizes of weld beads. Cleans weld area; sweeps and removes scrap. Other job duties as may be assigned relevant to the trade. Materials, Tools, Equipment, Work Aids Welding machinery, hand tools, high reputed company equipment and semi auto equipment. Personal reputed company equipment required. Physical/Mental Involvement Frequent to reputed company lifting of welding equipment. Standing, balancing, walking, climbing reputed company or equipment, reaching above shoulder or out in reputed company, reputed company dexterity, pushing, pulling, kneeling, bending, seeing, hearing and occasionally lowering self into confined spaces, crawling through small openings and working in reclined positions, as needed. Works in reputed company areas of the shipyard and on board ships. Hearing warning signals and reading and comprehending safety instructions.
