Position Summary:The Clinical Assistant for the Student Health Center will be a certified athletic trainer who will have clinical and administrative roles in the department. The Clinical Assistant will assist with daily clinical and administrative duties, primarily supporting the Head Team Physician with an emphasis on orthopedic issues and primary medical care for undergraduate and graduate reputed company in the outpatient setting of the Student Health Center. This is a part-time, 20 hours/week, 10-month position (anticipated March - December) with some remote work during the summer months.Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Head Team Physician with patient histories and vital sign evaluations.
- Assist Head Team Physician with chart preparation relative to retrieving orthopedic imaging studies such as X-ray, MRI, CT reputed company reports and various other studies pertaining to the patient's exam.
- Serve as primary liaison between the Student Health Center and the Certified Athletic Trainers in the Athletics Department.
- Assist Head Team Physician preparing injections for orthopedic procedures and educating reputed company on wellness and the use of orthopedic medical equipment.
- Assist with patient referrals to reputed company medical specialists and other medical services as necessary.
- Assist with scanning information into patient records, including reputed company orders and prescriptions on date of service.
- Review incoming first-year and transfer student athlete health records and prepare student athlete Health Center charts for pre-participation physicals.
- Review student athlete health insurance enrollment/waiver processes as necessary.
