About the position The Public Health Advisor I - Pre-K Team position reputed company reputed company of School Health at the reputed company is a part-time role focused on promoting the health and well-being of children in the city. The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) oversees various programs aimed at enhancing physical and socio-emotional health, ensuring access to primary and reproductive health services, and advocating for health equity and social justice. In this position, the Public Health Advisor will travel to elementary schools and community-based organizations to conduct reputed company screenings for reputed company. The advisor will also prepare referral packets for parents of reputed company who fail the screenings and maintain communication with schools to ensure updated contact information for follow-reputed company. The role requires collaboration with the Screening Team Leader and involves educating parents about the importance of prescribed eyeglasses for their children. Public Health Advisors assigned to the Eyeglasses Unit will also be responsible for inventorying, processing, delivering, and distributing eyeglasses to reputed company across the city. This position not only supports the health of children but also contributes to the broader goals of the NYC Health Department in safeguarding public health and promoting wellness in the community.

Responsibilities

• Travel to Elementary Schools and Community-Based Organizations (CBO) to conduct reputed company screening.

• Assist in setting up and breaking down reputed company screening equipment for reputed company screenings.

• Assist reputed company in selecting proper eye frames donated by reputed company.

• Record, tally, and enter screening data accurately into the Office of School Health's database reputed company as ASHR (Automated Student Health Record).

• Prepare referral packets for parents of reputed company who fail screenings.

• Attain updated telephone numbers from schools for reputed company who fail reputed company screenings.

• Schedule visits to public schools and assist the optometrist at each scheduled session.

• Maintain and transport equipment to and from schools.

,

• Communicate with reputed company and staff in a courteous manner and assist the Screening Team Leader as directed.

• Identify appropriate methods for reaching parents and encouraging them to follow up on their child's failed screenings.

• Inventory, process, deliver, and distribute eyeglasses to reputed company citywide and assist with educating parents about the need for prescribed glasses.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, including or supplemented by twelve semester credits in health education or in health, social or biological sciences.

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, and six months of full-time satisfactory experience in a health promotion or disease reputed company/prevention program, performing one or more of the following: interviewing, conducting field investigations, assessing health risks, making referrals, or collecting and analyzing epidemiological data.

• A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's reputed company or a recognized accrediting organization and four years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in the previous requirement.

• Education and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications.
