Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reputed company Inpatient reputed company to support our reputed company client during a medical leave, with strong potential to transition into a contract-to-hire role. This position reports to the Director of CDI and Coding and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume coding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Code inpatient charts using ICD-10 and DRG Grouping systems.
• Review documentation to ensure accuracy in diagnoses, treatments, and services.
• Analyze Clinical Documentation Specialists' (CDS) notes and queries for proper capture of queried conditions.
• Validate admission diagnoses and coordinate corrections with Case Management as needed.
• Identify documentation issues that may impact coding accuracy, billing, and quality metrics.
• Communicate concerns with CDS team for clarification and resolution.

Daily Metrics

• Expected volume: 21 accounts OR $1.3 million in charges per day, whichever comes first.

Training & reputed company

• Training Duration: Typically 2-4 weeks (may vary based on individual experience).
• Coders with prior EPIC experience will undergo a condensed training schedule.
• Support provided by DRG Analysts with regular feedback and performance reviews.

Work Hours

• Training Period: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM CST
• Core Hours Post-Training: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM CST (flexible start/end times around these hours)

Qualifications

• Proven experience coding inpatient hospital records using ICD-10 and DRG systems.
• Strong familiarity with EPIC (preferred, but not required).
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and meet daily productivity metrics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
