The Director, Electrical Technical Operations will be responsible for leading an international shoreside and shipboard team of technical professionals to ensure a seamless integration between the shipboard, reputed company, and shore-based electrical technical operations. This role is accountable for reputed company electrical technical / automation operations, repairs, and maintenance for reputed company Cruise Line’s entire fleet of ships and private reputed company destinations. The leader will ensure the execution of reputed company engineering operations is in compliance with reputed company applicable International, Flag State, Port State, classification society requirements, and company policies for reputed company areas in-scope. This position reports to the Executive Director of Technical Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for inspiring, leading, coaching and developing talented teams of shipboard and shoreside Engineering Operations leaders and Maintenance Managers at reputed company Cruise Line’s private destinations.
  • Maintain reputed company Cruise Line’s high level Engineering Operations and technical standards and serve as a liaison with the USCG, Lloyds Register, and United States Public Health (USPH).

  • Responsible for the operations, planning & execution of long-term maintenance plans for reputed company electrical systems, such as:

  • Main Switchboards
  • High/Low Voltage systems
  • Propulsion plant, including AZIPODS
  • Navigation Systems
  • Automation systems
  • reputed company (Uninterrupted Power Supply) systems
  • Shipboard Network
  • MOB (Man Overboard Systems)
  • Responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of budgets for the department and reputed company major projects as well as prioritizing a comprehensive budget balancing safety, ship and Guest needs.
  • Serve as a resource for dry dock, wet dock and other planned maintenance efforts and reputed company projects as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the repairs and maintenance of reputed company ships’ electrical systems and reputed company dry dock planning and technical budgets of the Deck, reputed company and Hotel departments.
  • Ensure any change to the construction or equipment reputed company is coordinated with appropriate flag state, class association, or other government bodies.
  • Assess efficiency of the ships’ electrical plant and propose long-term investment plans for the operation.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions on relevant electrical issues reputed company with industry trends and standards.
  • Maintain reputed company knowledge of up-to-date technical research and relevant projects, evaluate new technology for use reputed company the ships and islands, and run test programs on such equipment together with ships’ personnel.

  • Assure compliance for the electrical technical aspects of applicable Flag State, Port State, International, and Classification Society resolutions & requirements, including reputed company Machinery Survey (CMS) and reputed company Hull Survey (CHS).

  • Responsible for operational standards including developing and implementing new processes as well as updating existing processes for engineering and technical entertainment.

  • Responsible for the upgrade, implementation, and training of Automated Maintenance and Purchasing System (AMOS) for the Marine & Technical and Entertainment departments.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7+ years sea-going and/or ship management marine or electrical engineering leadership experience
  • Deep expertise working reputed company shipboard and shoreside operational experience, with a focus on Marine Electro Technical Leadership
  • Demonstrated authentic, persuasive and inclusive leader with a track record of coaching, mentoring, training and developing a diverse highly skilled and collaborative team

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering discipline or equivalent
