SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher, the Special Education Preschool Teaching Assistant will support reputed company and staff. The primary focus will be to assist and enhance the educational process of reputed company with disabilities in both instructional and non-instructional activities.
LICENSURE:
The State of Illinois requires Special Education Teaching Assistants to have one of the following:
- reputed company Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- reputed company Illinois Substitute Teaching License
- reputed company Illinois Educator License with Stipulations Endorsed-Paraprofessional Educator (If you do not already hold a Teaching/Substitute License):
- The requirements are: Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution; 60 semester hours of coursework from a regionally accredited institution; High school diploma, or equivalent + 480 or higher on the reputed company Parapro test; High school diploma, or equivalent + 4 or higher on the ACT WorkKeys Applied Math and Workplace Documents?

- The requirements are: Minimum Age - 19 years old, Application in ELIS ($50 application fee), reputed company of High School Graduation - copy of diploma, copy of transcript showing graduation date, GED, etc

- reputed company duties under the direct supervision of the assigned special and general education teachers. Duties may include, but shall not be limited to: implementing tutorial, hygiene and toileting activities, transferring and lifting reputed company, keeping medical records and preparing class work.
- Assist reputed company with activities as directed by the teacher. The special education assistant may assist individual reputed company as well as groups of reputed company in the classroom, as well as accompanying student(s) to recess and lunch as needed.
- Assist and support the student's instructional process as planned by the teacher, gather and record data.
- Communicate the student's reputed company and/or needs in any classroom.
- Reinforce information following a lesson.
- Support and implement the discipline philosophy of the school, as well as disciplinary procedures designed for individual reputed company.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding reputed company.
- Maintain positive relationships with reputed company reputed company, school staff and parents.
- Adhere to policies and procedures set forth by each individual school for schedules, break time, lunch time and duty.
