At arenaflex, every employee has the opportunity to shape the future of retail, influence strategic decisions, and grow alongside a dynamic, forward‑thinking team.

Position Overview – Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (Remote)

arenaflex is seeking a seasoned financial professional to serve as the senior leader of our FP&A function for the rapidly expanding e‑commerce technology division. This role will be the primary financial partner for the online business IT (Trade Innovation) team, responsible for shaping the financial roadmap, driving strategic analysis, and delivering actionable insights that enable data‑driven decision making.

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will work closely with senior leaders across product, engineering, operations, and the PMO to develop robust financial plans, monitor performance, and guide the organization through transformational initiatives such as agile operating model adoption and workforce optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Planning: Lead the creation, maintenance, and continuous refinement of the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and a five‑year strategic financial model for the e‑commerce technology business.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with senior technology leaders to develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze actual results versus plan, and provide forward‑looking insights that influence product roadmaps and investment decisions.
  • Transformation Support: Act as a core partner in the implementation of the enterprise‑wide digital transformation, helping to redesign operating models, re‑balance labor‑to‑contract ratios, and align financial controls with new agile processes.
  • Capital Allocation & Project Finance: Drive the capital budgeting process in partnership with the PMO and Finance teams, including investment appraisal, post‑implementation reviews, and optimization of the financial asset base for high‑growth initiatives.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Design and maintain dashboards, financial reporting packages, and ad‑hoc analytical tools that deliver clear, concise, and actionable intelligence to both operational and executive audiences.
  • Leadership & Development: Mentor and manage a team of Financial Analysts, ensuring their work aligns with the evolving needs of the e‑commerce technology function and fostering a culture of analytical excellence.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance data integrity, and implement best‑in‑class automation solutions that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Risk Management & Controls: Oversee internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness for the technology finance function, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of progressive financial experience within a retail or consumer‑product environment, preferably in a fast‑moving e‑commerce or technology setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in a financial analysis or FP&A role that supports senior leadership and drives strategic initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced finance certification (CFA, CPA) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets, translate findings into clear narratives, and influence decision‑makers.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar data‑visualization tools; experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the capacity to present financial concepts to non‑financial audiences.
  • Proven track record of leading cross‑functional projects, building consensus, and delivering results in a matrixed organization.
  • Comfortable working in a remote environment, demonstrating self‑discipline, proactive collaboration, and effective time management.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Prior experience in an agile operating model or digital transformation initiative within a retail or technology company.
  • Hands‑on experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan) and automated reporting solutions.
  • Knowledge of e‑commerce economics, subscription models, and technology cost structures.
  • Ability to build financial models that incorporate scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and long‑term forecasting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a natural curiosity for business operations and a passion for continuous improvement.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to see the big picture, anticipate market shifts, and align financial plans with long‑term corporate objectives.
  • Data‑Driven Decision Making: Comfortable leveraging large data sets, statistical techniques, and visualization tools to uncover insights.
  • Leadership & Influence: Skilled at coaching junior analysts, fostering teamwork, and gaining buy‑in from senior stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly pivoting priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Integrity & Accountability: Commitment to ethical financial stewardship, rigorous controls, and transparent reporting.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, your career trajectory is limited only by your ambition. As Senior Manager, FP&A you will be positioned to:

  • Progress to Director or Vice President of Finance roles within the technology or broader retail divisions.
  • Participate in high‑visibility strategic projects that shape the future of the company’s digital ecosystem.
  • Access a robust learning platform offering certifications in data analytics, financial modeling, and agile methodologies.
  • Engage with senior leadership through quarterly business reviews, executive briefings, and cross‑functional steering committees.
  • Mentor emerging talent, building a legacy of analytical excellence and fostering a pipeline of future finance leaders.
