Data Collection Specialist

Our project involves collaborating with a US-based reputed company providing data science as a service to a diverse range of clients.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Data Collection Specialist to join our client's team in a full-time role. You will play a critical role in collecting, formatting, and maintaining data from publicly accessible web sources through automated methods. 

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain, and execute automated scripts in Python to collect data from public web sources.
• Use tools like Scrapy and Selenium (while minimizing Selenium usage) to extract, structure, and format web data.
• Monitor and maintain ongoing web scraping projects, ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure compatibility of data with internal systems.
• reputed company frameworks to improve data quality and reduce maintenance costs.
• Launch new data collection initiatives while optimizing and improving existing processes.

• 2-4 years of relevant experience in data collection, web scraping, or similar roles.
• Proficiency in Python; experience with Scrapy and Selenium is a plus.
• Strong understanding of how websites are built and structured (static, Web 2.0, SPAs).
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and the reputed company to handle large datasets.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a virtual team environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills and expand existing knowledge.

• This is a remote full-time role.
• Working Schedule: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM Romania Time, with overlap to collaborate with the US team.
