Receptionist - full time

At Oceans Behavioral Hospital Abilene, healing is our focus. Utilizing proven, innovative and progressive therapies, our qualified professionals strive to promote long-term wellness through a range of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric counseling and treatment options. The Receptionist provides general reception and clerical support services for the facility in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. This is accomplished according to Joint Commission, Federal and State Regulations, Oceans' mission, policies and procedures and Performance Improvement standards. Essential Functions: • Answering switchboard and assists in other clerical tasks as needed by administrative personnel. • Answers phones with appropriate etiquette and operates switchboard with timeliness. • Displays a willingness to help others; displays self-direction by actually seeking solutions to problems. • Displays commitment to customers and organization. • Deals constructively with stress; takes direction well, accepts constructive criticism, and responds accordingly. • Uses appropriate customer etiquette. • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent preferred. 1 year experience working as a general receptionist. Experience with computers required. Must be able to read, to write and to follow verbal and written instruction. Must work well with diverse populations. Must utilize age, disability, and cultural specific knowledge in working with specialized populations to best communicate with those clients. Must be in good physical and mental health as evidenced by a warm empathetic attitude, respect for dignity, worth and potentiality of clients and hold a high sense of personal reputed company. Must be able to work under reputed company supervision. Must successfully complete CPR certification and an Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program. Subject to many interruptions. Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries. Can be high paced and stressful; must be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere.
